What It Means to Be Truly Free: Who Would You Be If You Were No Longer Run By Fear?

What if you could outgrow your fear of judgment, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, failure, and being seen? What would become possible for you? If the lifeforce you use to resist, manage, and suppress, was free to create the life you really want? In this article we will dive into an ontological and bodymind maturation inquiry into how our identity and present are entangled with frozen experiences of our past. To come home to the truth of who we truly are beyond this. Discovering freedom.

What if freedom isn’t about changing your external circumstances, but the ability to be truly present with life regardless of what is ‘happening out there’?

During this series we have brought consciousness to the root of the core fears that shape who you believe you are, and what you think is possible for your life:

The fear of judgment…
The fear of rejection…
The fear of abandonment…
The fear of betrayal…
The fear of failure…
And the fear of being seen.

These deeply rooted childhood wounds, which become frozen in your bodymind, nervous system, and neural pathways – block your freedom. Confining you to what you ‘know’ about yourself and life, based on the past, which becomes entangled with your present.

But there is a way to create your life from beyond this, beyond the limitations and stories that keep you stuck. In this article we’ll dive into an ontological and maturation inquiry into: What does true freedom actually mean?

What Is True Freedom, Really?

To truly become free we must first bring consciousness to how unfree you truly are.

In childhood, if you experienced judgement, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, failure, and unsafety being seen – to a child’s mind, these were threats to your survival. They are so deeply painful.

In that moment, when you were flooded with a child’s emotions and thoughts, this experience became frozen in your bodymind, neural pathways, and nervous system as a point of survival. Now, the mind’s ONLY job is to ensure you survive. And so any time you experienced something even slightly similar, your mind will recognise (RE-cognise) this situation, and immediately flood you with that same experience from your past. To ensure you successfully survive again.

And this will repeat over and over again. Deepening the pathways and continuously giving you a world that fits with your story, what you ‘know’ to be true’ about yourself and life.

Fast forward to your present and this has become so normal to you, that you will think this is ‘just the way it is.’ You cannot even see that you are being run by a repeating, frozen survival mechanism from your past. It is a blindspot.

Everything in your life – everything you do, everything you say, how you behave, your thoughts, your emotions – will be in service of making sure you never have to experience that initial threat again.

And this is surviving, not living.

Discovering freedom starts with bringing consciousness to this mechanism and story that is unique to you. The unique story – emotions, thoughts, body sensations – that has become so familiar to you that you believe that it is ‘you.’

Disentangling who you think you are from this survival mechanism.

Shedding all that isn’t who you truly are.

True freedom doesn’t mean not experiencing all of the human ‘messiness,’ it means connecting to a level of consciousness, and relationship to life, yourself and to human being, that allows you to experience life in an entirely new way.

Beyond the mind.

Beyond the survival mechanisms that run human beings.

Beyond the limitations, and fears, and blocks that are keeping you stuck.

Reconnecting to the truth of who you are…

Everything-nothing.

Infinite potential.

And then creating your life from this space.

Healing These Fears at the Root To Access True Aliveness

This frozen survival mechanism is entangled with the identity, it becomes your entire way of being. The bIt is possible to live beyond the survival mechanism of these fears.

To experience your life from true freedom.

These specific practices will help you start healing at the root:

  • The Fear of Judgement – Embody the Truth of Who You Are

Reconnect with who you are beyond this survival mechanism. This will allow you to come home to a space of authenticity and experience true freedom, aligned purpose, and full aliveness.

  • The Fear of Rejection – Surrender and Trust Life

This is not doing more or becoming a ‘better version’ of yourself, it’s about letting go of control, surrendering, and learning to trust life again. It is a journey of reclaiming the parts of you that were disowned to stay safe: your emotional expression, sexuality, creativity, and intuition.

  • The Fear of Abandonment – Experience your Wholeness

This starts with bringing consciousness and compassion to the deep emptiness that is created by unmet emotional needs in childhood. Walking through a gentle discovery of who you are beyond this survival mechanism.

  • The Fear of Betrayal – Soften Back to Love

Open, soften, and show your vulnerability. Allow yourself time to be with any unprocessed rage, heartbreak, and grief as gently and as tenderly as you can. Hold yourself as you would the little one who experienced the initial heartbreak.

  • The Fear of Failure – Choose Yourself

Create a space where you can experiment without failing. Give yourself permission to play, and explore, without any pressure or need for a certain outcome. Learning to let your authentic expression flow, reconnecting to the truth of your heart.

  • The Fear of Being Seen – Create Internal Safety

This requires a deep return to the body, to presence, and to truth. Slowing down and dropping into the body, reconnecting to your authenticity. Bring awareness to the speed and intensity of your mind, and gently return to experiencing the present through the body.

It is possible to outgrow these ways of being at the root and access the truth of who you are. I have seen it time and time again with hundreds of clients around the world.

This is only the beginning.

The process of Maturation continuously deepens, unlocking more freedom, more possibility, more abundance, and more love than you ever thought possible.

Who Would You Be If You Were Truly Free?

So I ask you, truly, what would be possible for your life if you were free?

What would you create?

How would you like to wake up and experience yourself in your world?

How free and at ease would you want to feel in your body when you are deeply connected to another?

How much joy, creativity, and authenticity would you want to be able to experience?

How would you want to feel in your heart?

Who would you be?

Who Would You Be Without This Fear?

Freedom is not found in the absence of challenges, but in true aliveness in the present moment.

When you shed your core fears, healing them at the root, and outgrowing the entire way of being that has been generating the limitations of your world.

Discovering freedom is an invitation – to soften, to surrender, and to come home to the truth.

To return to the aliveness that is the truth of who you are beyond the layers of protection and the survival mechanism that has been running you.

You are not your fear.

You are not your past.

You are infinite.

Whole.

Life itself.

Everything-nothing.

This is only the beginning. And from this space, everything is possible. So, I will ask you again: Who would you be if you were free?
